Sephardic Temple

In a community rich in religious tradition and architecture, the Sephardic Temple is considered a landmark building. The exterior of the building expresses the major interior spaces carved out of an overall volume. The articulation of these spaces each with their own arched entrances, combines with the monolithic texture of white split face concrete block with burlap rubbed joints to create an image reflective of Sephardic Mediterranean heritage. The three story 42,000 sq.ft. structure is located above a three level 80,000 sq.ft., 250 car subterranean garage. The temple houses an 850 seat traditional sanctuary with a central bemah, a 150 seat chapel, a social hall opening onto a traditional garden, a museum and library, and a twenty classroom school surrounding an atrium at the third level.
